Terms of Service

These Terms of Service (“Terms”) form a binding agreement between you and Mouse Snap™ (“Mouse Snap”, “we”, “us”, “our”) and govern your access to and use of the Mouse Snap website, web application and mobile application, and related services (together, the “Service”). By creating an account, subscribing, or otherwise using the Service, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.

1. The Service

Mouse Snap lets you photograph receipts and bills; automatically extracts key details (such as date, vendor, amount, currency and a suggested category) using AI; and lets you review, edit, categorize, report and export that data. Automated extraction is provided to assist you and may contain errors — you remain responsible for reviewing and confirming every record before relying on it for accounting, tax or any other purpose. Features may be added, changed or removed over time.

2. Eligibility & accounts

  • You must be at least 18 years old and able to enter into a binding contract.
  • You must provide accurate account information and keep it current.
  • You are responsible for safeguarding your credentials and for all activity under your account.
  • Notify us promptly at support@mousnap.com if you suspect unauthorized use of your account.

3. Plans, scan limits & the Free tier

The Service is offered on a Free tier and on paid subscription plans. Each plan includes a monthly allowance of receipt scans (for example, Free 10, Starter 200, Pro 500 and VIP 2,000 scans per month; current allowances are shown on our pricing page). When you reach your plan’s monthly allowance, automated scanning pauses until your allowance renews or you upgrade. Paid allowances renew with your billing cycle; the Free allowance renews monthly.

4. Subscriptions, billing & renewals

Paid plans are sold and billed through our website by Paddle, our Merchant of Record. Paddle handles payment processing, invoicing and applicable sales taxes/VAT, which are shown at checkout. Prices are stated in US dollars unless otherwise indicated.

  • Subscriptions renew automatically at the end of each billing period until cancelled.
  • Upgrades take effect immediately; your higher scan allowance becomes available right away.
  • You can manage or cancel your subscription at any time from the customer portal linked in the app.
  • We may change prices or plan features with reasonable notice; changes apply from your next renewal.

5. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

  • use the Service for any unlawful, fraudulent or infringing purpose;
  • upload content you do not have the right to process, or that contains malware;
  • attempt to disrupt, overload, reverse-engineer or gain unauthorized access to the Service or its systems;
  • resell or provide the Service to third parties except as expressly permitted; or
  • use automated means to abuse scan allowances or circumvent usage limits.

6. Your content & data

You retain all rights to the receipts you capture and the data extracted from them (“Your Content”). You grant us a limited licence to process Your Content solely to provide and improve the Service for you. How we handle your information — including that receipt images are processed to extract data and are not stored on our servers — is described in our Privacy Policy.

7. Intellectual property

The Service, including its software, design, branding and content (excluding Your Content), is owned by Mouse Snap or its licensors and is protected by intellectual-property laws. These Terms grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable right to use the Service; no other rights are granted.

8. Third-party services

The Service relies on trusted third parties — including Paddle (payments), Anthropic (AI extraction), Supabase (authentication and database) and Vercel (hosting). Your use of the Service may be subject to those providers’ terms, and we are not responsible for third-party services outside our control.

9. Disclaimers

The Service is provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement. We do not warrant that automated extraction will be accurate or error-free, or that the Service will be uninterrupted or secure. Mouse Snap is not an accounting, tax or legal service and does not provide professional advice.

10. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Mouse Snap will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for loss of profits, data or goodwill. Our total liability for any claim relating to the Service will not exceed the amount you paid us in the twelve (12) months before the event giving rise to the claim. Some jurisdictions do not allow certain limitations, so parts of the above may not apply to you.

11. Termination

You may stop using the Service and delete your account at any time from Settings. We may suspend or terminate access if you breach these Terms or use the Service in a way that risks harm to others or to the Service. On termination your right to use the Service ends; provisions that by their nature should survive will survive.

12. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. Material changes will be posted on this page with an updated “Last updated” date and, where appropriate, notified to you. Your continued use after changes take effect constitutes acceptance.

13. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws applicable in the jurisdiction in which Mouse Snap operates, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules. Nothing here limits any mandatory consumer-protection rights available to you in your country of residence.
